Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Vanderburgh County Court Records, a private reference site for Indiana and Vanderburgh County record access. Indiana public records may be governed by the Indiana Access to Public Records Act, IC 5-14-3, and Indiana court records may be governed by the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records.

1. What This Website Is

This website is a privately operated reference resource. It is not the Vanderburgh County Clerk of the Courts, Vanderburgh Circuit Court, Vanderburgh Superior Court, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office, the Indiana Judicial Branch, or any federal court. It points users to public portals, offices, addresses, request channels, and general record-access information.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree to use this site for lawful purposes only. You may not interfere with site operation, misuse search features, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or copy content at scale, or use information from this site to harass, threaten, discriminate, or violate any law. You are responsible for checking official Vanderburgh County or Indiana sources before acting on record information.

3. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Information from this site may not be used for credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, eligibility decisions, or any other FCRA-regulated purpose. Public court or sheriff data may be incomplete, delayed, sealed, expunged, redacted, or later corrected by the originating agency.

4. Links to Outside Sites

Links may lead to Indiana courts, Vanderburgh County offices, sheriff pages, federal courts, statutes, vendors, or search providers. Those sites control their own content, fees, privacy practices, access rules, and transaction terms. A link does not mean endorsement or control.

5. No Warranties

This site is provided as an informational resource without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, error free, or suitable for a specific purpose. Court access can change under Indiana court rules, IC 5-14-3, IC 31-39 juvenile confidentiality provisions, sealing laws such as IC 35-38-9, court order, agency policy, or technology changes.

6. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses or damages arising from use of this site, reliance on its content, delays, omissions, third-party links, search-provider results, or actions taken by official agencies. Official records, certified copies, filings, and legal decisions must come from the proper court or government office.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless the site operators from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the site, violation of these terms, unlawful use of information, or infringement of another person's rights.

8. Intellectual Property

The text, organization, page structure, and original material on this site are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Government names, public statutes, court names, and official office titles remain the property or responsibility of their respective public bodies.

9. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be changed when site practices, law, technology, or record-access references change. Continued use of this site after a change means the current terms apply to later use.

10. Cutting Off Access

Access may be blocked, limited, or terminated for misuse, security threats, automated abuse, legal concerns, or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable United States law and, where relevant, Indiana law. References to Vanderburgh County records, Indiana APRA, and Indiana court access rules are informational and do not create an attorney-client relationship or official government process.

12. Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining sections remain in effect to the fullest extent allowed by law.

13. Questions

Questions about official court records, certified copies, warrants, jail records, traffic payments, or case filings must be directed to the appropriate Vanderburgh County, Indiana, or federal office that maintains the record.
